Step 1: Build the Frame

Stand in one spot. This is key. Place the 12 End Portal Frames in a square loop around you. Staying centered makes sure every Eye of Ender faces inward—vital for activation.

Start with 3 frames for the first side, then keep going to form a perfect square.

Next, turn right and place 3 more End Portal Frames to build the portal’s second side. Make sure the green tabs face inward — that’s key for activating the portal.

Next, turn right once more and place 3 end portal frames to form the portal’s third side. Double-check that the green tabs on each frame face inward toward the portal’s center.

Finally, turn right and slot in the last 3 End Portal Frames to finish building the portal.

The End Portal frames must be placed exactly like shown above — no mistakes, or it won’t activate.

Heads up: Make sure every green tab on the End Portal frames points inward — miss one, and the portal won’t spark to life.

Complete the End Portal with Eyes of Ender

To activate the End Portal, insert 12 Eyes of Ender into each frame block. Stand inside the portal for easy placement — but stay sharp.
With 11 Eyes in place, hold off on the final Eye while you’re inside the frame. Dropping the 12th Eye from the center will trigger the portal instantly, sending you straight into the End dimension before you’re ready.

Step back or hover above the portal, then place the final Eye of Ender to activate it.

Heads up: Every Eye of Ender must point toward the portal’s center to activate the End Portal. No exceptions.

The End Portal is now active — step through to enter the End and face the mighty Ender Dragon. Fast-track your journey and dive straight into the ultimate boss fight.

Get ready to delve into the exciting realm of smooth stone crafting in Minecraft 1.22. Discover the techniques that will elevate your gameplay and empower you to build like never before. Let’s dive in and explore the possibilities that smooth stone can unlock in your Minecraft adventures.

Gathering Resources for Smooth Stone

To begin your journey in crafting smooth stone, the first step is gathering the necessary resources. The primary material you’ll need is cobblestone, which can be easily obtained by mining stone blocks found in various locations around the Minecraft world. When you break stone with a pickaxe, you will receive cobblestone, which is the first step towards creating smooth stone. Make sure you have a sufficient supply of cobblestone, as you’ll need it for both crafting and smelting.

Once you have gathered enough cobblestone, you should also prepare a furnace. This essential tool is necessary for smelting your cobblestone into smooth stone. You can craft a furnace using eight cobblestones arranged in a square shape in your crafting grid. When you have your furnace ready, you will also need a fuel source to power it. Common fuels include coal, charcoal, or even wooden items such as planks or sticks. Having these resources on hand will ensure a smooth crafting process without interruptions.

Lastly, it’s always beneficial to gather additional materials while you’re out mining. Collecting iron ore, coal, and other valuable resources can enhance your gameplay experience and prepare you for future crafting endeavors. By being resourceful and efficient in your gathering, you’ll be able to create smooth stone and other essential items without delay, allowing you to focus on building and exploring in the vast world of Minecraft.

Crafting Smooth Stone in a Furnace

Once you have gathered the necessary resources, the next step is to craft smooth stone in a furnace. Begin by placing the cobblestone you collected into the furnace’s top slot. In the bottom slot, insert your chosen fuel source, such as coal or wood. Once both items are placed correctly, the furnace will begin to smelt the cobblestone into smooth stone. Each piece of cobblestone smelted will yield one smooth stone block, so be sure to monitor the process and manage your fuel effectively.

The smelting process takes a bit of time, typically around ten seconds per block of cobblestone. During this period, you can use that time to gather more resources or plan out your building projects. Once the cobblestone is completely smelted, you’ll see the smooth stone appear in the results slot of the furnace. Simply drag the smooth stone into your inventory, and you’ll be ready to use it in your constructions and designs.

Keep in mind that you can smelt multiple cobblestones at once if you have enough fuel and space in your furnace. This efficiency will help you create smooth stone quickly, allowing you to accumulate a large amount of it for your building needs. Planning ahead and organizing your resources will make the crafting process smoother and more enjoyable, enabling you to focus on your creative projects in Minecraft.

Obtaining Smooth Stone through Mining

While crafting smooth stone in a furnace is the most common method, there are alternative ways to obtain it, particularly through mining. In Minecraft, smooth stone can occasionally be found in naturally generated structures, such as villages or certain caves. However, this method is less reliable compared to crafting, as you may not always find smooth stone readily available in your surroundings.

If you’re set on acquiring smooth stone through mining, one effective strategy is to look for stone blocks in the lower layers of the world, particularly in mountainous regions or caves. When you mine stone blocks, you can then smelt them in a furnace to transform them into smooth stone. This method can be helpful if you find yourself short on resources or if you want to explore while gathering materials.

Additionally, you can utilize silk touch enchanted tools to mine stone blocks directly. When mined with a silk touch pickaxe, stone blocks will drop themselves instead of cobblestone. You can then smelt these stone blocks into smooth stone later. This technique not only allows you to gather smooth stone directly but also preserves the original block type, which can be useful for various building projects. Remember to keep an eye out for opportunities to mine stone effectively as you explore the vast Minecraft landscape.

Differences between Regular Stone and Smooth Stone

Understanding the differences between regular stone and smooth stone is crucial for any Minecraft player looking to enhance their building skills. Regular stone, the most basic building block in the game, has a rough texture and is the primary material players encounter while mining. It can be used in various crafting recipes, but it lacks the refined aesthetic that smooth stone offers.

Smooth stone, on the other hand, is a more polished version of regular stone, achieved through the smelting process. The visual difference is striking; smooth stone has a clean, sleek look that can significantly improve the overall appearance of your builds. This refined texture makes it a popular choice for players who want to create modern or sophisticated structures in their Minecraft worlds. When using smooth stone in your projects, you can convey a sense of elegance that regular stone simply cannot match.

Furthermore, smooth stone is also used in specific crafting recipes that regular stone is not part of. For example, smooth stone can be crafted into stone slabs and stone bricks. These additional building materials allow for even more creative possibilities, giving players the ability to design intricate structures using a combination of textures and styles. By understanding the distinct characteristics of both stone types, you can make informed decisions in your crafting and building endeavors.

Building Applications of Smooth Stone

Smooth stone is an incredibly versatile building material that can be utilized in a variety of ways in Minecraft. One of the most common applications is in the construction of walls and foundations. The sleek appearance of smooth stone can elevate the design of your buildings, making them look more polished and refined. Whether you’re building a modern home, a fortress, or even a simple garden wall, smooth stone can provide a sturdy and aesthetically pleasing base.

In addition to walls, smooth stone can also be used for flooring. Creating a smooth stone floor can add a touch of elegance to any space, transforming a simple structure into something more sophisticated. You can combine smooth stone with other materials, such as wood or glass, to create stunning contrasts that enhance the overall design. Experimenting with different patterns and layouts can yield impressive results, allowing you to showcase your creativity in each build.

Moreover, smooth stone is an excellent choice for creating decorative features such as pillars or archways. By incorporating smooth stone into these architectural elements, you can add depth and character to your structures. The clean lines and subtle texture of smooth stone can draw the eye and make your builds stand out in the Minecraft landscape. As you explore the possibilities of using smooth stone in your designs, you’ll find that it can elevate your construction projects to new heights.

Tips for Efficiently Making Smooth Stone

Efficiency is key when crafting smooth stone, especially if you’re planning to use it in large quantities for your builds. One of the best strategies is to gather a substantial amount of cobblestone before you begin the smelting process. By stockpiling resources, you can ensure that your furnace runs continuously, minimizing downtime and maximizing your output. This approach allows you to focus on other aspects of your gameplay while smooth stone is being produced.

Additionally, consider setting up multiple furnaces if you have a significant amount of cobblestone to smelt. Using several furnaces simultaneously can dramatically speed up the process, allowing you to produce smooth stone at an impressive rate. This method is particularly useful when working on large projects that require a lot of smooth stone. Just remember to keep an eye on your fuel supply, as running out of fuel can halt production and slow down your progress.

Lastly, don’t forget the importance of organization in your crafting area. Keeping your inventory tidy and having designated storage for materials will streamline your crafting process. By knowing where everything is, you can quickly access the resources you need, ensuring that you can craft smooth stone efficiently. This organization will not only improve your productivity but also enhance your overall Minecraft experience, allowing you to focus on creativity and exploration.

Utilizing Smooth Stone in Redstone Contraptions

Smooth stone isn’t just a beautiful building material; it also has practical applications in redstone contraptions. Redstone is a versatile resource that allows players to create complex machines and mechanisms. Smooth stone can be used as a solid building block in these devices, providing stability and support for various redstone components. The sleek appearance of smooth stone also makes it a popular choice for redstone builds, as it can help create visually appealing designs.

One common use of smooth stone in redstone contraptions is in the construction of piston doors. These doors can be created by combining smooth stone with pistons and redstone dust. The result is a seamless, hidden entrance that can be opened and closed with the flick of a lever or button. Smooth stone enhances the clean look of these doors, making them an attractive addition to any base or secret hideout.

Additionally, smooth stone can be used in redstone clocks, which are essential for creating timed mechanisms in your builds. By incorporating smooth stone into the design, you can create a compact and efficient clock that provides precise timing for your redstone contraptions. This versatility allows players to experiment with various designs and functionalities, unlocking a world of possibilities for automation and creativity in Minecraft.

Advanced Techniques for Enhancing Smooth Stone in Builds

As you become more experienced in crafting and building with smooth stone, you may want to explore advanced techniques to enhance its use in your projects. One effective method is to combine smooth stone with other materials to create unique textures and contrasts. For instance, pairing smooth stone with materials like quartz, wood, or brick can produce stunning visual effects that elevate your builds from ordinary to extraordinary. Experimenting with various combinations will help you discover new styles and designs.

Another technique to consider is the use of lighting in conjunction with smooth stone. Incorporating glowstone, sea lanterns, or even torches can create a dynamic interplay between light and shadow on smooth stone surfaces. By strategically placing light sources, you can highlight certain areas of your build, drawing attention to architectural features or pathways. This approach not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of your structures but also improves visibility, making your builds more functional.

Lastly, consider using smooth stone in combination with different building techniques, such as layering or creating depth in your designs. By varying the height and arrangement of smooth stone blocks, you can create intricate patterns and visual interest. This technique can be particularly effective in larger structures, where the eye is naturally drawn to the details. As you hone your skills and explore these advanced techniques, you’ll find that smooth stone can be a powerful tool in creating impressive and unique builds.

Creative Ideas for Smooth Stone in Minecraft

In conclusion, mastering the art of crafting smooth stone in Minecraft 1.22 opens up a world of possibilities for your building and crafting endeavors. This versatile material not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of your structures but also serves functional purposes in redstone contraptions and other applications. By gathering resources efficiently, understanding the differences between stone types, and utilizing advanced techniques, you can elevate your gameplay and creativity.

As you continue your Minecraft journey, consider experimenting with smooth stone in various creative ways. Use it to construct modern homes, intricate castles, or even elaborate gardens. The possibilities are endless, and your imagination is the only limit. Don’t hesitate to combine smooth stone with other materials or design elements to create unique textures and styles that reflect your personal touch.

Ultimately, the key to success in Minecraft lies in exploration and creativity. Embrace the challenge of mastering smooth stone crafting and let it inspire you to create breathtaking builds. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, smooth stone is a fundamental material that can help you achieve your construction goals and bring your visions to life in the captivating world of Minecraft.

The Oxygen Sealer is a machine that fills a room with oxygen (although the oxygen is generally not visible) up to around 800-1000 blocks (amount stacks with multiple sealers within close proximity) allowing the user to breathe without Oxygen Gear. Unlike the Oxygen Bubble Distributor, the Oxygen Sealer confines the oxygen to the room it is in. The sealer must be supplied with power and sufficient oxygen. See Oxygen Collector for supplying oxygen.

The sealer will only work in a room that is completely sealed off from outer space. This can be achieved with either a completely closed off room, or with an Air Lock. The sealer must have nothing above it to block its vents. It is designed to check for a proper seal about every 5 seconds, so be sure to give it time to seal.

Each sealer requires at least 320 air points per second to work continuously or it will fail.

Stackable: Yes (64)

Oxygen Sealer Usage and Functionality

An Oxygen needs at least three things before it becomes operational

  • A sustainable oxygen supply.
  • A capable power supply.
  • An airtight room.

Connecting the sealer to a local source of air, as well as coupled to a power network will cause it to activate and intitiate a 5-second check of its surroundings. If there is no breach in the room, it is in, then it will successfuly seal, as indicated by the status, when you right click on it.

It is recommended to provide some storage for oxygen if you cannot sustain the oxygen supply for an extended period time.

What Oxygen Sealers do have is the ability to adjust the temperature to habitational levels which can relieve you of having to use thermal protection. This can be done by fitting a Ambient Thermal Controller into its slot. However, it may consume more energy in this way.

How to use the Oxygen Sealer?

Read “Sealed Space” for full information about how to make a sealed space.

“Special” types of blocks which are not normal solid blocks which you can place a torch on, might not be sealable unless you set it up in configs. This applies to nearly all see-through blocks except for vanilla Glass Blocks and Glass Panes. So most types of glass (for example Clear Glass from Tinker’s Construct) do not seal unless you edit the Galacticraft core/config file. (Some glass in other mods might seal if it is just a different version of vanilla Glass Blocks, for example Chisel 2 mod borderless glass should seal OK without you needing to change configs.)

Opening an Air Lock to go outside will expose that room to the planet’s environment, thereby sucking all of the air out of all rooms that are not sealed. This can be prevented by installing two air-locks to your base in tandem: one exterior door that goes directly outside and one interior door with a small room in between both air locks. This will create a sort of air lock chamber so that there is never a direct opening to the outside.

Glass panes in the wall can seal OK – see Figure 1. Glass panes in the roof or floor have holes in them, so they do not seal – see Figure 3. Wool including carpets, Sponge, Leaves and Gravel can never make seals. A Farmland Block in your roof can seal (it has a solid dirt underside) but not in the walls – there is a slight hole at the top which the air can escape through.

In the case of sealing larger rooms, a single oxygen sealer may not be able to seal it on its own. Thus multiple oxygen sealers may have to be used instead.

Obtaining

Orion Drive

Crafting it requires the Orion Drive as a recipe component. The schematic for the Astro Miner is a possible treasure item in the Mars dimension, upon defeating the Evolved Creeper Boss, and building the Orion Drive requires samples of ore from every dimension including Asteroids.

Crafting

To build the Astro Miner you will need to have unlocked the Astro Miner Schematic which is available as a treasure item after killing the Evolved Creeper Boss on Mars, but only for players who have already unlocked the Tier 3 Rocket Schematic or who have already travelled to the Asteroids dimension in some other way.

Ingredients:

  • 5 x Orion Drive – note, this will need 5 of many types of ore
  • 1 x Advanced Wafer
  • 1 x Beam Core
  • 1 x Pole
  • 4 x Heavy Duty Plate
  • 2 x chest

Recipe in the NASA Workbench

Usage

The Astro Miner is an automatic mining vehicle which moves around, making tunnels and mining up everything it finds, and brings it all back to a base station where it docks. It is not player-rideable* so do not try and climb inside it!

(* OK, there are other mods which allow you to put a saddle on anything including some quite surprising things as in the movie Dr Strangelove, in which case maybe they become rideable after all.)

The Astro Miner is the ultimate automatic mining system in Minecraft!

It has certain similarities with:

  • a Railcraft Tunnel Bore – but it does not need rails, it’s a lot smarter and more flexible, and it returns to its base and unloads itself.
  • a ComputerCraft Mining Turtle – but you do not need to program it!
  • a Buildcraft Quarry – but it is fully mobile, and also lag-free.

Additional advantages are that it looks awesome, and it works in space: it is optimised for mining asteroids! An Astro Miner busy hunting out and mining asteroids for you in the depths of space is a pleasure to see.

Assembling the base

  • You will require:
    • 8 Astro Miner Base blocks
    • an Astro Miner
  • Place down the 8 Astro Miner Base blocks in a 2 x 2 x 2 cube – when correctly placed, they should transform into an industrial looking dock. At this point make sure the opening in the dock it is facing in the direction you want the Astro Miner to be mining. Facing outwards from your base is a good plan if you don’t want your precious space base to get all chewed up. You can wrench the dock to rotate it.
  • When you are ready, right click the Astro Miner Base with the Astro Miner item to place an Astro Miner (you cannot wrench the dock after an Astro Miner has been placed in it)
  • Connect power to the Astro Miner Base, let it power up for a few seconds, and enjoy!

You will be warned in chat if you cannot place the Astro Miner – for example if:

  • the Astro Miner Base already has an Astro Miner
  • there is not enough clear space to place it (because a protected or non-minable block, such as chests or wiring or machinery, is present)
  • the player already has the maximum allowed number of Astro Miners: there is a server-set limit on the number of Astro Miners a player can have in the game: it’s configurable, the default is 6. (This was 4 in early beta versions of the Astro Miner. Your current number can be seen using the /gcastrominer command.)

If you need to stop the Astro Miner, just hit it to break it, like hitting a rocket.

To get the blocks it has mined:

  • the Astro Miner Base works like a chest, you can open it and see the items in it
  • blocks can be extracted from the Astro Miner Base using hoppers (placed beneath it) or any type of item pipe or duct from other mods
  • breaking the Astro Miner Base will drop all the items it currently contains – but if you break it, the Astro Miner will not be able to dock (unless you put back another Astro Miner Base at exactly the same spot)
  • breaking the Astro Miner will drop any items it currently contains, but is not the best plan because then it will forget its route

The Astro Miner has special mining AI for the Asteroids dimension – it knows how to go find the asteroids and mine out only their cores. (This has been in planning for 6 months or more! All this time your Galacticraft world has been carefully saving a list of where the asteroids are, ready for this day!)

Minable blocks

The Astro Miner can mine any regular ores or blocks found in the map, including obsidian. When mining, it always mines the ore block not the drop, similar to a pickaxe with Silk Touch. It cannot currently mine liquids (or gases).

To protect from accidental damage, the Astro Miner by design will not mine certain protected blocks which are only found in player bases or underground dungeons or other ‘built’ areas of the map. Protected blocks include:

  • chests
  • any type of machinery (from any mod)
  • tracks
  • sign
  • farmland
  • growing crops
  • beacon
  • mob spawner
  • mossy cobblestone, stone brick or End Portal blocks.

Examples of “machinery” in the vanilla game are: piston, furnace, redstone wire, hopper, dispenser, comparator, noteblock.

When the Astro Miner encounters these protected blocks (or bedrock or lava), it returns to its base and will try mining elsewhere. If the protected blocks are in the Astro Miner’s main outward path from its base, then the player will need to fix that. If the protected blocks are in the Astro Miner’s return path back to its base, then it will stop and the player who owns the Astro Miner will be alerted in chat.

Warnings

  • Use at your own risk – this will destroy blocks (but only in the direction the Astro Miner Base is facing)
  • The Astro Miner has not been tested with other mods – it should be OK with most things though. The Astro Miner will not break any block (from any mod) which looks like machinery or chests

Tips

  • On servers, the Astro Miner will operate only while the player who owns it is online – if the player logs out or is kicked from the server, the Astro Miner will immediately stop and go into a dormant state, with its engines and scanning beams off. This is to prevent it from mining up the whole map for an offline player. While in the dormant state, it cannot be damaged or broken, except by a player who is in Creative Mode.
  • An Astro Miner will only move and operate if the chunk it is in is loaded and entities are active in that chunk. It is the same behaviour for a minecart in the vanilla game and the machines in most other mods. To be active will normally require it to be 2 chunks inside the chunk loading radius, for example if the chunk loading radius is 8 chunks (128 blocks) then the Astro Miner would need to be maximum 6 chunks (96 blocks) from the nearest player to continue operating. This may also depend on server settings, on managed servers.
  • If the Astro Miner finds something it cannot or will not mine, then it will turn around and go back to its base. If it is already returning to its base when obstructed, then it will stop where it is and the player will see a chat message warning of that: sometimes (every 30 seconds) it will try to start moving again, but it cannot start moving until the path is unblocked.
  • For this reason, the Astro Miner does not function well at very deep levels underground (below around y = 15) as it will frequently encounter bedrock and return to base
  • If you break the Astro Miner Base when it has an Astro Miner, the Astro Miner will eventually come back to the base location and stop there, with a message in chat about its base being destroyed. (The player had better then break the Astro Miner too.)
  • The Astro Miner will respect Grief Prevention / WorldGuard type plugins, so that it should be impossible for it to mine in another player’s protected land. (We have had no reports of problems in over 6 months, but if there are problems please inform the Galacticraft develops in the usual way via the Github Issues list.)

Known issues

(Do not report / bug the developers about these!)

  • The Astro Miner will stop if the chunk it is in is unloaded – which can happen fairly easily when it is far from its base.
  • The Astro Miner will not currently mine GregTech ores, due to differences between them and all other ores. It is therefore advisable not to use it in a dimension which contains GregTech ores.

This page is updated as of version 3.0.12.335 and applies to later versions of Galacticraft also.

Future plans

  • The scanning beam visual effects are currently a beta, these are not the final versions

Future upgrades

In a future Galacticraft version (maybe not until Galacticraft 4) there will be optional upgrades for the Astro Miner to add extra capabilities. Likely upgrades will include:

  • increased range
  • larger hold capacity
  • faster movement, faster mining
  • a chunk loader for the chunk where it is currently mining (disableable in config)
  • mine also any valuable blocks visible on the sides of its tunnels
  • immunity to lava (currently it can pass through flowing lava but not lava source blocks)
  • fluid collection tanks

The Tier 2 Rocket is the rocket which you will need to get to Mars. The spaceships require Rocket Fuel for liftoff.

This rocket can be loaded with 1500 fuel points (1500 mB or 1.5 buckets) of Rocket Fuel. The safe fuel level is 80%. This rocket travels at around 33 blocks/second, so it can reach the planet selection screen in around 36 seconds.

Requirements

For this type of rocket you need to upgrade your NASA Workbench with a Tier 2 Rocket Schematic. This schematic can only be acquired in a Moon Dungeon. To build the rocket you will also need Heavy-Duty Plates which are made out of Heavy Duty Plating and Compressed Meteoric Iron.

Tier 2 Rocket
Mod: Galacticraft
Type: Vehicle
Durability: N/A
Stackable: No

Crafting

The Rocket is crafted using the NASA Workbench, to craft it you must fill up all the respective slots on the workbench. The Rocket requires one Nose Cone, four Rocket Fins, two Tier 1 Booster, one Rocket Engine, and ten Heavy-Duty Plates. You can fill the up right slots with chests to increase the storage space to 18, 36 and 54 slots. You can get a pre-fueled version of every spaceship in creative mode.

Usage

You can use it the same way as the Tier 1 Rocket. Once you have left the atmosphere you will get to the Planet Selection Screen, which allows you to select Mars or the other dimensions.

Note: breaking the vehicle causes it to lose all its fuel.

Galacticraft 4 (GC4) is the latest release in the Galacticraft mod series. Galacticraft 4 was officially released on May 27, 2017.

GC4 is available in Minecraft 1.12.2 (January 2018), and also versions for Minecraft 1.8.9, Minecraft 1.10.2 and Minecraft 1.11.2 (May 2017). Players can pick a version matching any other mods they want to use with Galacticraft, the features and gameplay in all four game versions of Galacticraft 4 are exactly the same! All these four game versions are continually updated together.

Read also: Galacticraft ExtraPlanets

The main additions in GC4 include the beautiful new planet Venus and many things found there, including new ores, sulphuric acid pools, gas spouts, crashed probes, a new dungeon type and the Spider Queen. Heading in the other direction, there are spectacular Abandoned Bases to discover in the Asteroids dimension. These contain clues to further things…

New features

New features in GC4 include:

  • New ores and terrain blocks:
    • Galena Ore (yields lead)
    • Other Venus ores including aluminum, silicon and quartz
    • Volcanic Rock (turns into lava when broken. build .108 introduced silk touch for this block (Yes! stacks of lava!))
    • Scorched rock
    • Pumice
    • Sulfuric Acid – damages anything on contact
  • Sapphire Ore on the Moon, yields blue sapphires which can be used for trading with Alien Villagers
  • Abandoned Space Base to discover in the Asteroids dimension
  • New space base building blocks:
    • Hydraulic Platform – a useful elevator for moving between levels of your base, looks great and intuitive to use.
    • Magnetic Crafting Table – a crafting table which holds its inventory, and can be placed on its side or even upside-down! Smart Shift-clicking of items into the crafting table. It remembers its last recipe to give simple automated crafting using Hoppers (or item pipes). And an attractive grey color!
    • Vacuum Glass – a sealed, vacuum-proof, glass window block which makes smart connections to its neighbors, in three variants including Clear Glass and Strong (explosion resistant) – in underwater bases it also provides perfectly clear underwater views
    • Lighting Panels – cool flat panels for giving a space base look to your lighting, in many different designs. Can be set in-game to match the texture of any block, by holding the Lighting Panel and shift-right-clicking against the block whose texture you want to copy. Can be colored for any color of lighting.
    • Fluid Pipes – these replace Oxygen Pipes in earlier Galacticraft versions, and can transport oxygen gas or many other types of gas or liquid, including a simple “pull” mechanism (when right-clicked with a Standard Wrench) to pump liquids out of a tank [Note: pipes must have length at least 2: pipes of length 1 will not pump because 1 pipe block cannot pump liquids out and in at the same time]]
    • Fluid Tanks – simple glass tanks which can hold 16 buckets of any liquid or gas – stack them vertically to make larger tanks
    • Switchable Aluminum Wire – make all your power circuits turn off and onable with this redstone operated switch wire
    • Hidden Redstone wire and Hidden Redstone repeaters – these are solid blocks which function like redstone
    • Dark decoration block – a near-black block for building space bases with a dark theme
    • Emergency Post – a brightly lit block which actively repels mobs, and which can hold one Space Emergency Kit until needed
    • Grating – a decorative block for a space / industrial look, it allows liquids to flow through it and steam / smoke can also pass through it
  • New machines:
    • Deconstructor – a machine which takes apart your old rockets (and any other items) and salvages around 70-75% of the metals and compressed metals for re-use
    • Chromatic Applicator – a machine which changes the color of: Vacuum Glass frames, Lighting Panel lights. Can use any custom color, you can create colors by blending dyes and blocks. There may be other colorable blocks added in future.
    • Geothermal Generator
    • Many machines – currently Electric Furnace, Energy Storage Module, Electric Arc Furnace, Energy Storage Cluster, Electric Ingot Compressor, Circuit Fabricator, Oxygen Storage Module, Fuel Loader and Deconstructor but others will be added too – have configurable sides for electrical and pipe inputs and outputs. (You can change the sides around by using a wrench while holding SNEAK.)
  • Crashed Probe – some metals are recoverable from this, also contains a Thermionic Core used to craft an Atomic Battery
  • Venus dungeon blocks, Web Torches and Tier 3 Treasure Chest
  • Spider Queen and Juicers (small spiders)
  • New items:
    • Volcanic Pickaxe – break multiple blocks at the same time;
    • Tier 2 Thermal Padding – needed to keep the player cool in the extreme heat of Venus;
    • Shield Controller – provides a shield to protect the player’s armor, without this the dangerously acidic atmosphere of Venus will destroy any armor – with this your armor is protected from all standard damage including player attack damage, so it’s like an infinite Unbreaking enchantment;
    • Lead Ingot
    • Atomic Battery, a low-powered infinite battery available without being in Creative Mode
    • Space Emergency Kit, a single item kit containing emergency Oxygen Mask, oxygen tanks and some other supplies
    • Other planned spiderey treasure items
    • Strange Seed – this can be found in some Abandoned Space Bases in the Asteroids dimension
    • Cheeseburger, Canned Beef and some other new food items
    • Pizza Margherita,Pasta,Sunflower Oil, and more foods make by Roby05(also called Roby) for Galacticraft
    • In Creative Mode, Infinite Oxygen Supply is now wearable as an oxygen tank
    • In Creative Mode, a Dungeon Locator item helps you quickly locate the nearest dungeon on Moon / Mars / Venus (also locates Abandoned Bases in the Asteroids dimension)
  • more to come

Existing features and compatibility

Galacticraft 4 will include everything which was already in Galacticraft 3, updated for the latest Minecraft versions.

Galacticraft 4 again has very wide compatibility with other mods, like Galacticraft 3. All energy systems in Galacticraft 4 interface correctly with RF power and with IndustrialCraft2 and Mekanism, so that players and modpack makers can pick any of these tech mods. Fluid sytems should also be compatible with everything.

Galacticraft 4 again gives the option of using PlayerAPI for compatibility with other mods which conflict without it.

You may notice a few blocks (for example Cryogenic Chamber) have a slightly different appearance in Galacticraft 4. This is to improve overall performance (better FPS).

Galacticraft 4 has an API usable by add-on creators and other mods. This gives add-ons (and other mods) more capabilities than ever before. New aspects include adding gravity items to reverse the effects of Zero Gravity on Space Stations – for example Gravity Boots – and allowing other Forge mods to add their own mobs on Galacticraft planets.

Gameplay differences

Venus will require a Tier 3 rocket to reach it. That’s because it’s a more challenging planet than Mars. So players should be visiting Mars first and then have the choice of heading outwards to Asteroids or inwards to Venus.

Many detailed improvements to the gameplay and mechanics:

  • Astro Miner will now keep on mining properly even if it moves into unloaded chunks far from the player – it shouldn’t ever get lost, even mining distant asteroids in the Asteroids dimension
  • Rocket transfers to the Celestial Selection screen and, from there into a Lander, are smoother
  • New holding screen (similar to the Generating Terrain screen) so no more visual glitches when changing dimensions
  • More intuitive Zero-G movement (this change is also included in the final versions of Galacticraft 3)
  • Sensor Glasses now reveal nearby Galacticraft mobs, useful when mining in dark places
  • Sensor Glasses now reveal oxygen leaks, if you have an Oxygen Sealer which is not sealing
  • Many machine sides have configurable electric and pipe inputs, see list above
  • Improved dungeon generation on Moon and Mars, all dungeons have boss and treasure rooms
  • Alien Villagers will trade items for sapphires. They will trade Schematics with you if you end up with two Moon Buggies and no Tier 2 Rocket
  • Arc Lamp lights in a more natural cone, and scares off hostile mobs more effectively
  • Your Schematics can now be hung on walls, similar to paintings!
  • Cryogenic Chamber now advances the time to next morning only in the dimension where it is, time in other dimensions is not affected (this change is also included in the final versions of Galacticraft 3)
  • Aluminum Ore can be processed in IndustrialCraft2 Macerator, also in AppliedEnergistics2 Grindstone, Actually Additions Crusher, EnderIO SAG Mill (requires config setting in EnderIO), and Thermal Expansion Pulverizer
  • Fallen Meteors now mine faster with the proper tools, and have a good chance of dropping two Raw Meteoric Iron
  • Desh Sword has an additional minor capability: it is so tough it can break leaves or webs without losing any durability
  • Titanium Sword has increased damage, it now has base damage of 9 (compared with 7 from a Diamond Sword) and it also swings faster for higher dps (damage per second)
  • Titanium Pickaxe and other Titanium tools mine faster than before – with Efficiency V enchantment they are very fast
  • Titanium armor gives a movement speed bonus when walking and running, if a full set of Titanium Armor is worn
  • New /gchouston command which every player can use any time, to return to the Overworld bed position
  • New /gckit command which server admins can use to give a Space Emergency Kit to any player who is stranded.
  • Dispenser can place rockets on launchpads, also can throw meteor chunks and place and pick up buckets of Galacticraft fluids
  • Players in a Space Race team will all receive the benefit of Tier 2 Rocket Schematics unlocked by any team member.

The config file has been cleaned up as of Galacticraft build 4.0.1.133 onwards. All the configs are now organised in logical categories. All your existing config entries are preserved. The mod will automatically tidy up any older config file. The in-game config works properly now.

Download Galacticraft

As with other Galacticraft versions, Galacticraft 4 consists of four mod files: GalacticraftCore, Galacticraft-Planets, MicdoodleCore and Galacticraft-Foods.

Download links to Galacticraft for Minecraft 1.8.9 – 1.10.2 – 1.11.2 – 1.12.2 can be found on the official Galacticraft Download page. For Galacticraft-Foods you can open this link: [1]

Servers and Sponge

Most large multiplayer servers will want to be running Sponge, as Bukkit doesn’t exist for the recent Minecraft versions. (As an alternative to Sponge you can also look for simpler server mods like ForgeEssentials.)

Galacticraft 4, versions for Minecraft 1.10.2 and later are Sponge compatible on servers. The Galacticraft developers have worked with Sponge to fix a couple of bugs in Sponge, to ensure that it works for you!

Recommended Sponge versions change from time to time, please visit the Sponge page for more info, or ask on the forum

Galacticraft ExtraPlanets is an expansive add-on for the popular Galacticraft mod, which allows Minecraft players to explore the solar system and beyond. While Galacticraft on its own enables space travel and planetary exploration, ExtraPlanets takes this concept further by introducing additional planets, moons, rockets, custom items, and various gameplay mechanics, expanding the intergalactic adventure for players.

With ExtraPlanets, players gain access to a broader array of celestial bodies, including not only the planets of our solar system like Mercury, Jupiter, and Neptune, but also moons and distant exoplanets, such as those in the Kepler system. The addon introduces tiered rocket systems, custom launchpads, and space stations for nearly every planet, giving players new challenges and goals as they progress through the game.
